About Us
NCF was founded in 1932 when groups of Christian nursing students and graduates began meeting for prayer and Bible study in nursing residential schools across Canada. In 1942, NCF became part of the ministry of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada. NCFC is a vibrant ministry seeking to bring the transforming love of Jesus Christ to the nursing profession in Canada. There are more than half a million regulated nurses across Canada, many of whom espouse Christian faith. However, the stressful realities of the workplace within a secular health care system has resulted in many nurses feeling isolated and alone.
NCFC was registered as a Federal Not-For-Profit Corporation in June 2011. In 2012 July, NCFC became a Canadian registered charity.
Today, provincial and national continuing education events allow nurses, nursing students and nursing faculty to learn how to integrate their Christian worldview with their nursing practice and links are often made with useful resources for further study.
NCFC is a member country of Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI).

Statement of Faith
I believe in God the Father, Creator of all things; in Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Redeemer, and in the Holy Spirit, our Comforter. (Ref. Mk 1: 10-11; Jn 14: 15-16; Jn 14: 26; Jn 17: 5; Eph 4: 6; 1 Cor 8: 6)
I believe in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ, the true Son of God; His Virgin Birth; His sinless Life; His true Humanity; His Death on the Cross for our Sins; His Supernatural Resurrection; and, His Second Coming. I believe in the hope of eternal life through Christ. (Ref. Mt 1: 20-23; Jn 1: 14; Jn 17: 3; Heb 2: 14-15)
I believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every Christian and gives us the Power to live a Godly life. (Ref. Jn 3: 6; Jn 16: 7; Eph 1: 13-14; Phil 1: 6)
I believe in the Bible, which is the inspired Word of God; and is authoritative for faith and practice. (Ref. Jer 23: 28; Mal 2: 7-8; Acts 17: 11; 2 Tim 3: 6-7; 1 Jn 2: 12-14; Rev 22: 18-19)
I believe we are saved by faith alone, not by Works; however, we are saved to do Good Works that God has already laid out for us to do. (Ref. Rom 4: 5; Eph 2: 8-10; 1 Tim 2: 4)
I believe in the Spiritual Unity of all Believers in Jesus Christ, and the importance of Church for fellowship and teaching. (Ref. Heb 10: 25; 1 Jn 1: 3-4)
